These Terms govern access to and use of DETERMEND websites, fundraising services, community features, The Founding 16 and The DETERMEND Map (together, the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. About DETERMEND
DETERMEND is a purpose-driven fundraising and community platform supporting charitable causes, community initiatives and impact-led campaigns. The Platform connects people and organisations but does not own or control the independent organisations listed on it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. Organisations must be represented by someone authorised to act for them.
3. Accounts and information
You must provide accurate, current and complete information, keep account credentials secure and promptly correct information that becomes inaccurate.
4. Fundraising and donations
- Donations must be processed through authorised payment providers used by the Platform.
- Campaign organisers must accurately describe their cause and intended use of funds.
- DETERMEND does not guarantee fundraising outcomes or the conduct of independent organisations.
- Refunds and transfers may be subject to payment-provider, charity and applicable-law requirements.
5. Verification
DETERMEND may request identity, authority, charity, organisational or other supporting information. We may decline, pause or remove a campaign, application or listing where information is incomplete, misleading, unsafe or inconsistent with the Platform’s purpose.
6. The Founding 16
The Founding 16 is a limited launch programme. 16 launch spaces are displayed in each category. An expression of interest or selection of a numbered space does not reserve or guarantee membership. Applications are reviewed and spaces are confirmed only in writing by DETERMEND.
7. The DETERMEND Map and Shield
Approved organisations may be displayed on The DETERMEND Map with a DETERMEND Shield. The Shield means that the organisation has been accepted for a DETERMEND listing under the checks applied at that time. It is not a government approval, regulatory certification, financial guarantee, endorsement of every activity, or guarantee of future conduct. Users should carry out their own checks before donating, investing, partnering or contracting.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the Platform for fraud, unlawful fundraising, harassment, impersonation, misleading claims, infringement of rights, malware, unauthorised data collection or activity that may harm people, causes or the Platform.
9. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant DETERMEND a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce and display that content as needed to operate and promote the Platform and relevant campaign or listing. DETERMEND branding, designs and Platform materials remain protected.
10. Third-party services
The Platform may link to or use services operated by others, including payment, hosting, email, mapping and social platforms. Their own terms and privacy practices also apply.
11. Availability and changes
Features, launch capacity, categories and availability may change. We may update, suspend or withdraw features for safety, legal, operational or development reasons. We will not use this clause to remove mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, DETERMEND is not responsible for indirect loss, independent organisations’ acts, or decisions made solely in reliance on a listing, Shield, campaign or user-submitted information.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. The Irish courts will have jurisdiction unless applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

Privacy Policy
DETERMEND is the controller of personal information collected through its websites and forms. We process personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently and only for specified purposes.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect your name, email, telephone number, organisation, role, campaign information, account information, communications, donation and transaction information, and technical data such as device, browser and IP information.
2. Founding 16 expressions of interest
The Founding 16 form requests only your full name, email address, chosen category and optional numbered launch space. This information is used to receive, review and respond to your expression of interest and manage the launch process.
3. Lawful bases
Depending on the activity, processing may be necessary to take steps you request before entering an arrangement, to perform an agreement, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests such as operating and protecting the Platform, or rely on consent where consent is required.
4. Sharing
Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, communications, payments, fraud prevention, professional advice or Platform operation, and with authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal information.
5. Map listings
Organisation names, public contact information, location and listing details may be published on The DETERMEND Map after approval and appropriate permission. Private application email addresses will not be displayed as public map contact details unless expressly agreed.
6. Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purpose collected, legal requirements, dispute handling and legitimate operational needs. Expressions of interest are reviewed periodically and removed when they are no longer required. Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability and may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact info@determend.com. You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Network & Map Notice
The Founding 16 and The DETERMEND Map are launching features. Space numbers are visual launch positions, not transferable property, financial products or guaranteed commercial opportunities.
Selection
DETERMEND may review relevance, identity, organisational authority, safety, alignment, accuracy and available capacity. We may ask for supporting information before confirming a space or map listing.
The DETERMEND Shield
The Shield identifies an approved DETERMEND network listing. It must not be represented as statutory accreditation, charity-regulator approval, investment advice, due-diligence completion or a guarantee by DETERMEND.
Changes
Launch categories, checks, presentation and capacity may evolve as the ecosystem develops. Material terms applying to any future paid service will be presented before a person or organisation agrees to it.
Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files stored on a device. DETERMEND may use strictly necessary cookies for security and functionality. Analytics, preference or advertising cookies should be used only where permitted and, where required, after a visitor has made a cookie choice. Third-party services such as payment providers may use their own cookies under their policies.
